In a heartfelt celebration of those who consistently put their lives on the line for the safety and health of our communities, AdventHealth recently paid tribute to local EMS heroes in Highlands and Hardee Counties. The week-long celebration, coinciding with National EMS Week, saw team members from AdventHealth hospitals in Sebring, Wauchula, and Lake Placid visiting local EMS/Fire stations to express their gratitude with delightful gifts.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) acknowledges the immense dedication of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), responding to over 200 million calls annually. This year, National EMS Week took place from May 18 to 24, under the apt theme, “We Care. For Everyone.” It’s a powerful reminder of the compassion and skill that EMS professionals across the nation bring to their duty every day.
A Unique Gesture of Thanks
AdventHealth leaders took a unique and thoughtful approach in showing their appreciation, delivering pickleball sets and gift baskets brimming with snacks like chips, nuts, breakfast bars, and popcorn to EMS and Fire Stations throughout the Heartland community. This act of kindness celebrated the partnership between these dedicated first responders and AdventHealth, as both work tirelessly to ensure the community’s well-being.
