Brewer Welcomes the Relocated and Renamed PCHC Behavioral Health Connection
A Strategic Move for Better Patient Care
BANGOR — Exciting changes are underway! The Penobscot Community Health Care’s Mental Health Access Center, long-established at the Capehart Community Health Center in Bangor, is about to start a new chapter across the bridge in Brewer. This move will not only change the center’s geography but also its identity, as it will be renamed the PCHC Behavioral Health Connection.
Why Brewer? Why Now?
With the lease expiration at Capehart, PCHC saw an opportunity to optimize its operational strategy by moving to the Brewer Medical Center. According to Spectrum News, this relocation is more than a logistical shift; it represents a commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and service efficiency.
Optimizing Resources for Enhanced Care
PCHC’s President & CEO, Lori Dwyer, emphasized that the move aligns with the organization’s values of excellence and sustainable healthcare. “PCHC Behavioral Health Connection is about more than a space move, it’s about ensuring excellent stewardship of our limited financial resources while maintaining timely access to high-quality, integrated care,” she stated. The improvement stretches beyond logistics into fostering an environment where patient experience and sustainable practices coalesce.
Continued Care with Added Benefits
Despite the move, continuous patient care remains a top priority. The center will offer the same essential services — counseling, medication management, and referrals — maintaining the familiar, direct access via the self-referral line at 207-404-8100 ext. 2817. The renovated and revitalized spaces aim to uplift the quality of patient visits and interaction.
A Seamless Transition
The relocation to Brewer Medical Center is set for completion by November 1. Until then, patients will continue to receive uninterrupted support and services. This strategic decision to merge locations goes beyond practical implications, signifying growth, adaptation, and commitment to health innovation. As Bangor’s chapter closes, Brewer sets the stage for a promising beginning, enhanced by the same strong community-centric values PCHC prides itself upon.
PCHC’s transition marks a noteworthy step in improving the healthcare landscape, illustrating a paradigm where innovative solutions meet urgent community health needs.
