I'm stumped. I have been dating a man for 4 months. I'm 32 years old, he's 38 years old.
⠀
Immediately stipulated that both wanted a serious relationship. So far our meetings are cafes, walks, s*x. And now we are planning a vacation.
⠀
We talk a lot about hotels, we discuss the country, we choose, in general. And then he says: "By the way, we haven't solved the financial issue yet. We'll split the expenses, right?"
⠀
And I don't know what to do. I make good money, and so does he (not oligarchs, of course, but we earn more than average).
⠀
I am ashamed, uncomfortable to ask the question upfront, to ask him if it is such an unaffordable amount or what?
⠀
I kind of understand that from now on there will be a certain model in our relations: the expenses will always be divided, or he is the man who decides.
⠀
I'd rather split it with my girlfriend, it's easier that way: I don't have to refresh my closet or show off.
⠀
Or am I winding myself up? What do you think? What would you do in cases like this?
