The state of Indiana has taken a significant step towards revolutionizing rural healthcare with the unveiling of its expansive, multi-year plan as part of an application for the federal government’s $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program. This ambitious proposal, named “GROW: Cultivating Hoosier Health,” is set to stabilize struggling hospitals, enhance local services, and redefine primary care across 64 rural counties. As stated in WISH-TV, the plan was submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services just ahead of the application deadline, highlighting the urgency and foresight in addressing rural healthcare needs.
