Miami University eagerly invites you to its highly anticipated Health and Wellness Symposium, set to take place on March 11. This year, the theme “Thriving Together” promises an exciting opportunity for the Miami community to explore the vast and interconnected dimensions of health and well-being.

The Focus program continues its tradition of selecting varied and timely themes each year. In 2025, the symposium explores multifaceted aspects of health, touching upon emotional, physical, and social domains. Attendees can look forward to a deeply engaging experience, fostering a collective journey towards enriched well-being.

Kristen Lee, known affectionately as “Dr. Kris,” will captivate the audience with her insights on “The Science of Mindfulness.” Lee’s reputation as an award-winning clinician and noted speaker sets high expectations for an enriching keynote.

Engage and Participate

Advance registration for the symposium is now open. Participants will not only enjoy a complimentary lunch with the keynote session but also benefit from diverse breakout sessions that delve into various health topics. Detailed scheduling information will become available come February.

Submit Your Proposals

If you’re bursting with ideas and ready to contribute, the symposium is accepting proposals. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to share their research and experiences. Whether through presentations, interactive sessions, or poster displays, presenters have the chance to showcase innovations and success stories. The deadline for submissions is December 12, and selected participants will be informed by January 2.

Meet the Mind Behind the Moment

Kristen Lee shines as the lead faculty member in Behavioral Science at Northeastern University. She passionately investigates well-being and resiliency, especially for marginalized groups. Her published works, including “Worth the Risk,” have earned considerable acclaim, with her TEDx talk surpassing 427,000 views.
