WHO IS RIGHT, ME OR MY SISTER?

I was pen pals with a man for half a year. He is from another city. I'm 23 years old. He's 28.

And he offered to come here for a couple of days, to stay in a hotel, and that I was with him there LAST night, I refused.

He immediately changed his mind to go and stopped writing to me. I think I did the right thing.

But my sister says that this is my complexes, shyness, type of nothing in it is not so. She said that a man is not going to date just like that. And the more so to go just will not spend money on a ticket, etc. that now everyone is engaged in s*x before the wedding and it's normal and no one will bother with me.
